Your plan at a glance
  1. 7 daysSet rooms, priorities and scope.
  2. 3 daysArrange the main reset.
  3. 1 dayPrepare guest essentials.
  4. ArrivalA short touch-up, not a restart.

Seven days out: decide what matters

List where guests will sleep, eat and spend time. A guest bathroom, kitchen and living room may deserve more attention than a closed home office. Choose a few priorities so your plan does not become a last-minute attempt to reorganize the entire house.

If you want professional cleaning, request the appointment and agree on the scope early. Availability must be confirmed; this schedule is a planning example, not a promise of an opening. Mention whether you want cleaning before guests arrive, after they leave or both.

Five days out: clear the working space

Put away belongings from accessible counters, guest-room surfaces and floors. Set aside fragile decorations before the visit and identify anything the team should not touch. Keep holiday deliveries from blocking the entry or hall.

Check guest bedding and towels yourself. Follow their care labels when washing and drying. DM does not provide laundry service. If you request a bed-linen change, confirm the additional $20 per bedroom and have the agreed clean linens ready.

Three days out: complete the main reset

Schedule the substantial cleaning around cooking and other preparations. A kitchen cleaned before a major baking session will still need a touch-up afterward. Tell the team which rooms will be occupied so the work can be coordinated.

  • Bathrooms: agree on fixtures, mirrors, accessible surfaces and floors.
  • Kitchen: clear counters and confirm any appliance-interior extras.
  • Living area: clear accessible surfaces and floor edges.
  • Guest room: make the bed area and storage you want cleaned accessible.
  • Entry: create a usable place for coats and shoes.

Oven, refrigerator and cabinet interiors are not automatically included in a seasonal or deep clean. Request them when booking rather than discovering the omission while loading groceries.

The day before: prepare for people

Set out clean towels, check everyday bathroom supplies and clear a place for luggage. Leave guest instructions where they are useful. Keep walkways free of boxes, cords and decorations.

In the kitchen, handle dishes and food storage as part of your own hosting routine. Clear spills using care suitable for the surface. Avoid experimenting with a new strong product on a countertop just before guests arrive; follow the material’s existing care instructions.

Arrival day: make a small final pass

  • Collect visible crumbs and loose entry dirt.
  • Wipe a fresh spill with a compatible method.
  • Check the guest bathroom and put out dry towels.
  • Empty household waste where needed.
  • Put cleaning products away securely.

Keep this pass short. If the main reset was done and rooms stayed usable, you should not need to start again. If plans changed, focus on the rooms that will actually be used.

After the visit, separate laundry, dishes and food storage from the cleaning tasks you want help with. For a follow-up quote, explain what the gathering changed and list the rooms and extras. That gives DM a clearer brief than simply asking for β€œa big holiday clean.”

Make the next step specific.

Tell us the rooms, their condition and the extras you want included. We will confirm the scope and price before the visit.
