A room can look freshly cleaned and still collect dust again. Instead of repeatedly wiping the same table, make a short list of where the dust returns first. That gives your next cleaning visit a clearer set of priorities and makes the work between visits easier to plan.

Find the recurring spots

Choose three surfaces you can check easily: a shelf, a table and the floor near an entrance. Notice whether one room needs attention more often than the others. Keep the observation simple; a dusty surface alone does not identify a problem with your heating system or indoor air.

Capture dust rather than scattering it

EPA explains that indoor dust includes material brought in from outside as well as particles generated indoors, and that ordinary activity can stir settled dust back into the air. Its guidance recommends damp dusting and regular vacuuming, and notes that a HEPA filter can help retain some vacuumed dust. Follow the surface and equipment manufacturers' care instructions; do not soak wood or spray electronics.

Give soft furnishings their own routine

Include the sofa, rugs and pet area when planning your upkeep. Check fabric-care instructions before selecting a cleaning method. Put the tasks you can manage on a short repeatable list, and discuss anything you want included in a professional visit before booking.

Keep filter maintenance separate

EPA recommends changing heating, cooling and portable-air-cleaner filters according to the manufacturer's directions. Professional house cleaning does not replace equipment maintenance. If you are unsure which filter your system accepts, consult its manual or a qualified technician.

Bring clear priorities to your next cleaning

Tell DM which rooms and accessible surfaces need the most attention. We can confirm the cleaning scope and price with you before the visit. Our 54-point guide explains the applicable cleaning tasks and final checks; your agreed rooms, accessible surfaces and separately quoted extras define the work for your home.

Make the next step specific.

Tell us the rooms, their condition and the extras you want included. We will confirm the scope and price before the visit.
