Your plan at a glance
  1. EntryCatch dirt on the way in.
  2. Resting spotsFollow fabric care labels.
  3. FloorsCollect hair before damp cleaning.
  4. Visit dayArrange a comfortable pet space.

Follow your pet’s route through the home

Start where your pet spends time: the door, favorite chair, sleeping area and the route to food and water. These zones often need attention more frequently than a rarely used guest room. A targeted routine can be easier to maintain than trying to reset every room each day.

Keep towels or suitable paw-cleaning supplies in a practical place near the entry, following the relevant product instructions. Do not use household surface cleaners on an animal. Ask a veterinarian about animal skin or coat concerns.

Collect hair before washing a surface

Pick up loose hair using a method suitable for the surface. Use the correct vacuum setting or attachment for your flooring and upholstery, and maintain the equipment according to its manual. Damp cleaning over a layer of hair often creates extra work.

  • Check floor edges and the areas around pet beds.
  • Use removable covers where appropriate, but read their washing labels.
  • Clean under water bowls and dry the surrounding floor.
  • Keep food storage closed and clean up spills.
  • Wash pet textiles separately as your household routine requires.

DM does not wash, dry or fold laundry. Do not leave a pile of pet blankets expecting it to be included in a cleaning visit.

Match the cleaner to the material

Before treating a spot on a sofa, rug or floor, read the surface and product instructions. A treatment suitable for one fabric can leave a mark on another. Do not combine products or keep layering them when the first treatment has not worked.

Persistent odors or stains may need specialist assessment. Explain accidents and damaged areas when requesting service; do not assume ordinary house cleaning includes animal-waste removal, upholstery extraction or restoration. The quote should identify the work the team has agreed to perform.

Make a pet plan before the door opens

Tell DM what pets are in the home and arrange a comfortable, secure area before arrival. Let the team know which room should remain closed and who to contact if plans change. Do not rely on a cleaner to monitor an open door and an unfamiliar animal while carrying equipment.

Keep pets away from products and treated areas as directed by the product label. A description such as “natural” or “eco-friendly” does not mean an animal can walk through a wet product. Discuss specific product preferences before booking.

Choose frequency based on what you observe

If hair or tracked-in dirt becomes hard to manage well before the next visit, discuss a shorter interval or different priorities. If you handle pet zones consistently, another schedule may fit. There is no single frequency that works for every pet household.

When requesting a quote, mention the number and type of pets, the rooms they use, floor materials and current condition. Ask how those factors affect the agreed work and price. Do not assume a fixed pet surcharge from a general article; your written quote is the useful reference.

Make the next step specific.

Tell us the rooms, their condition and the extras you want included. We will confirm the scope and price before the visit.
